A hopeful student meets with a Chinese professor and, in broken Mandarin, tries to explain exactly why he wants to take her class. But communicating in a new language is never easy. 说法 or "Trying to Speak" is a semi-autobiographical short film that asks how we communicate when we struggle to find the right words.
